There's no school like old school ...

... and nothing quite like the engaging, tactile experience of wielding painting implements -- brushes, palette knives, etc. -- on a variety of substrates. Teasing out latent imagery in textures, discovering ways to 'clinch' what it is I see in my mind's eye.  It is, as the Bard of Avon so aptly stated,  "such stuff as dreams are made on."
